Words have always been my home, and I’m still building with them as a Book Editor.

Books Are What I love!
Even before I understood what it meant, I knew stories were home.

While other kids played outside, I was nose-deep in books—lost in other worlds, chasing stories like lifelines. Reading wasn’t just a pastime. It was where I felt most like myself.
But when it came time to choose a path, I took the “safe” one. I went to college. I got the degrees (several including a Master’s). I followed the rules. And for a long time, I believed the words I loved could only be a hobby—not something I could build a life or career around.
That changed in 2022 when I launched The Diary of a Reader, a blog born from my love for books, stories, and everything they hold. What began as book reviews soon became something more—a way to reconnect with storytelling, character, and voice.
And somewhere between crafting blog posts, sharing my reading life, and immersing myself in fiction again, I discovered something powerful:
I didn’t just love reading books—I wanted to help shape them.
Now, I’m a freelance book editor offering developmental editing, line editing, and editorial feedback for authors who want their stories to land with clarity, emotion, and impact. My editing services are collaborative, voice-focused, and tailored to your needs—whether you’re revising your first manuscript, working toward book publishing, or searching for a fresh perspective.
If you’re looking to hire a developmental editor, or even a line editor who sees the heart of your work and knows how to help it shine—
you’re in the right place.
This is your next step.
And I’d be honored to walk it with you.
Where I’m Based…
Though I’m Stateside, my love for language isn’t bound by borders. I’ve worked with both American and British English, and I enjoy helping authors adapt voice, spelling, and syntax to fit their publishing goals, whether that’s favor or favour.
And while I’m a homebody at heart, I travel often through fiction. Chasing cozy mountain towns, magical kingdoms, or rainy city streets, depending on the day. If there’s romance, tension, or a shimmery bit of magic involved? I’m all in.
I’m a proud member of the Editorial Freelancers Association—because staying sharp and ethical matters.
You bring the story—I help shape it so readers feel it. Every edit is a collaboration, rooted in your voice and shaped by trust.
Authors trust me with their stories—and many come back book after book.

about My Editing Style
To me, a great book editor is a careful guide—someone who approaches each project with a light touch and deep respect for the author’s unique voice. I specialize in developmental editing and line editing, always working to shape a manuscript without ever overshadowing its soul.
My goal is simple: to help you deliver your message clearly and vividly into your reader’s imagination, while honoring the heart of your story. Sure, correcting typos and polishing punctuation is part of the editing process—but the real craft lies in elevating your voice, not rewriting it.
Over the years, I’ve honed this skill through countless hours of reading, revising, and offering tailored editing services to emerging and established authors. Whether you’re writing fiction or preparing your book for publication, I meet you exactly where you’re in the process—ready to support your next step with clarity, collaboration, and care.
I know the emotional weight behind every word count, every page, every pivot in your manuscript. That’s why I bring more than a red pen—I bring intention, industry insight, and a deep love of language.
And if you’re wondering what kind of stories light me up? Think unpredictable twists, swoon-worthy moments, and beautifully crafted worlds that keep me glued to my desk long past midnight.
This is more than just work.
This is a calling—and I’m still wildly in love with it.
